Out and About

Just this past week end we had the 12th annual "Plantation Wildlife Arts Festival" the 17th and 18th. This event
benefits the Art & Educational Programs at the Thomasville Cultural Center. This event is spread out over a three day period. This year’s event brought more than 60 wildlife artists, sculptors, craftsmen, carvers, photographers and jewelers to display some of the most breathtaking art work that one can lay their eyes on in one place. The event is well publicized and very well organized. A lot more activities are planned in addition to the displays of breathtaking nature art works. This year, one of the events was a Celebrity Mystery Cookoff. Participants were Thomasville’s Super Bowl Champions Danny Copeland and Myron Guyton. Other events were; nature habitats, field trial dog demonstrations, The Wild Discovery Center, live animal encounters and the Naturehood. For many years, Jim Fowler of "Wild Kingdom" has been a major participant in the event. Mr. Fowler is one of the major principals at "the Parks at Chehaw", a neighboring zoo, just up the road in Albany, Georgia. Link to parksatchehaw.org for more information.
We never run out of interesting things to do or places to go. Down the road or around the corner, is some happening, event or just another beautiful peaceful scene. As today is Thanksgiving, I will give thanks to be living in such a wonderful area :>)
